“We have used many photographers but Ron was the first one to really capture the feeling of how we dance”

” As teachers, we used Ron for taking photographs of our Argentine tango dancing. We found him to be very professional, patient and had a good way of “catching the right moment”.  We were very pleased with his work  “

Mila

“Ron creates an atmosphere in which one’s genuine expression and personality emerge freely. His photos showcase the natural beauty of human expression and unique personality by directing a kind and perceptive eye. Every image ends up an accomplishment and a keep sake.”

The Art of Dance

Hello, I'm Ron

And I am a dance photographer who loves to capture your passion for dance….because I also have that passion.   I’m often asked how I got started in dance photography and it started almost 40 years ago when I saw my first Flamenco and modern dance performances in Rochester, New York.  Nazareth College would host Alvin Ailey performances and there were open practices where the public could watch…and yes photograph the dancers.  That was the start of the addiction.

It would not be until 20 years later, when I started dancing (Salsa, latin) myself, that I realized how transformative dance could be. As a relatively shy and introverted person I’ve made it my mission to show others how dance can be a way to express your self, connect with others and be part of larger creative community.

With over 400 dance styles and new ones emerging, I feel like I am on just the tip of the iceberg in trying to capture the joy people experience in doing  all them…so far Ballroom, Ballet, Argentine Tango, Samba, West Coast Swing, Aerial, Salsa, Zouk, Kathak, Flamenco, Middle Eastern, Bboy.

To me, the results of your dance photography session will not only express how you feel about your dance but also show a little bit of magic of  your experience.  I sometimes use photo editing tools to add some of this magic, as can be seen below.

You will certainly want to hang your photos on the wall or have a photo album and not just have them hidden away on social media.

I can’t wait to experience working together
